How We Use Your Data
Core Product Functionality
We use your data to:

Product Improvement and Feature Development
We use anonymized, aggregated data to:
- Identify which features are most/least used
- Optimize application performance and user experience
- Develop new features based on usage patterns
- Prioritize product roadmap based on customer needs
Industry Benchmarking [BUSINESS CRITICAL]
We use anonymized, aggregated sales and cost data to:
- Calculate industry benchmarks (e.g., “average pour cost across 100+ bars”)
- Show you how your venue compares to similar businesses
- Identify industry trends and seasonal patterns
- Provide regional performance comparisons
Examples of Benchmarking Data:
- “Your pour cost (25%) is 3% below the industry average for urban bars”
- “Sales in your region increased 12% during the holiday season”
- “Average labor cost for venues your size is 32%”
How We Anonymize Data:
- Data is aggregated across multiple venues (minimum 20+ data points)
- Individual venue performance is never disclosed
- Personally identifiable information is stripped before aggregation
- Statistical methods prevent reverse-identification
Marketing and Research [BUSINESS CRITICAL]
We may publish anonymized insights in:
- Blog posts and whitepapers
- Industry trend reports
- Marketing materials
- Research publications
Example: “Our data shows that bars using BarBoard saw an average profit margin improvement of 8% in Q4 2024.”
